Pattern: calorimetry from Knitty Winter 2006
Yarn: ArtFibers Ming, 50%wool 50% silk blend, picked up on a trip to San Francisco. They're closing their physical store front at the end of January! In the meantime, they're having a sale, and you should check them out if you have a chance, they're definitely unique in both their fiber blending and dye jobs.
Needles: Addi Turbo size 7?
Mods: added a button at both ends because this thing was WAY to big for my head.
Pattern: half-pipe hat from Son of Stitch'n'Bitch
Yarn: Cascade 220, no clue what the color number was anymore
Needles: Clover bamboo 16" circs and DPNs, US size 8
Mods: added 20 sts to the cast-on b/c he has a big head. Used plastic canvas for the brim. If I make another one of these, I want to use something stronger for the brim; the canvas holds up fine to wear, but not to being folded in half and crammed in various pockets and bags. I'd also stitch the brim down the opposite way, b/c he's wearing the hat purl-side out so the fold covers his ears better. I think it looks fine either way, but definitely had knit-side out in mind when I knit it.
This was completed durin SAFF weekend (over a month ago!), and I never got around to blogging. There are a couple more items completed that weekend that I'll be posting...
The last Market of the year was this past weekend, and I wound up making about a dozen of these hot water bottle covers to put in a friend's booth. They were fun to cut out, and I may end up making a few more to list on etsy.
I received my back-tack box of goodies last week, but am having trouble uploading images to the flickr group...
I think I'm going to go work on that, and try to do some more of these brief catch-up posts later.
