A few months ago, I became completely convinced that Logan HAD to have a doll for his 2nd birthday (which was back on New Year's Day, but I didn't have a blog then). I've been loving all of the designs over at Wee Wonderfuls, so I decided to try the "Archie" design from her Make-A-Long pattern.
I've never made a softie before this project; if I had my own sewing machine, I'd be hooked. So fun, and so cute! For the fabrics, I started w/ my old apron from an old hostessing job I had at a Japanese retaurant. Originally, this was a huge, hideous yellow plaid apron/smock type thing, and I've never been able to make myself wear it since leaving that job. I've been hanging onto it forever because I really like aprons in general, but I think I'm going to try to see how many different projects I can incorporate it into. As you can see, the yellow plaid turned into Isaac's punkish little pants. I gave him a blue shirt w/ spirals on it and burgundy felt hair. I was a little worried Logan wouldn't be into the whole doll idea, but he seems to love it.
I hope thgis works, I haven't tried to post photos before.
