Today Logan and I went on a mini-adventure on the neighbors property. They've been homesteading for the last 30 years, and we lived on their land for most of 2006. The terrain is quite familiar to me, but brand new for a little boy who can do so much more with his body than last year. Today's challenge was a winding set of stone steps, largely obscured by leaf litter. First you climb up the steps....
... and then you slide all the way down, yelling "bump! bump! bump!". If you're the mama, you slide a bit slower to take pictures. Repeat several times for optimum toddler joy.
There are so many things beginning to bloom! I had a lot of fun taking macro shots of flowers. I even got a picture of a bee. See?
I'm trying to turn some of my pictures from today into web banners for this page and my soon-to-be-launched etsy shop...
In crafty news, I'm halfway through the blanket, with two skeins left to knit up. Slow and steady...
My neighbor says he might have a lead for me on an old, non-electric sewing machine that runs well. I desperately hope it works out, because i have sooooo many projects waitng to be worked on, and nt enough patience for handsewing in vast amounts!
Is any one else participating in ship of fools?
i am reading along! love zadie smith.
and these photographs... the flower + bee is amazing!
