... cross-stitch, and crafting. This Christmas/Solstice stocking was the first needlepoint I ever did. I started it when Logan was about two months old, and it was the only craft project I had going for a looooooooooong time. It was the project that kind of jumpstarted this whole crafty thing. Initially, I bought the pattern so I'd have something to do to combat the postpartum baby blues, and especially to fill the 3+ hrs I was spending in the car every other weekend going up to the North Bay for Brad's college stuff. It was a part-time project, worked on in the car or at relative's houses, when the baby was in someone else's arms or a car seat. It took 18 months to complete the actual cross-stitch, then RL turned it into a stocking just before the holidays.
A quick craftig timeline: 6 months after I began the cross-stitch, I started taking jewelry classes at beadissimo . 9 months after that, I started selling a few pieces of jewelry. 2 months later, the cross-stitch was complete, and I learned how to knit. That was a year ago.
Here are some detail shots. Some of the details that still kill me include: the stockings over the fireplace w. their little dragon toes, the little beaded candles on te tree, and the framed castle painting over the mantle.
good story
