Tured the heel, did the gusset, onto the foot. I have a feeling the foot is going to take a loooong time.
After some research, we decide to keep the turtle. I made him a hibernaculum this morning. It's a tote with 2 inches of soil on the bottom, and the rest is filled up w/ fallen leaves. I put him on top of it all, and he burrowed in to hibernate for the winter. Until I did the research, I never knew that turtles hibernated. That's probably what he was doing in the dog pen! He was probably trying to burrow into the straw bedding that was out there.
I'm super excited about our upcoming trip to SAFF! It's only 2 weeks away; we'll be camping for the weekend at Lake Powhatan. If you're going, delurk and say so! The trip is officially to research goats for next year, and unofficially to fondle lots of yarn...
