Logan took a bunch of pictures of his quilt while I had the blocks spread out, playing with placement. This was the least blurry of the photos :)
All the blocks have been sewn together, but none of the have had their seams pressed yet. I need to do that this weekend, then keep playing with placement and rotation.
When we were in Jackson this summer visiting my mom, I took Logan with me to Quilt Arts one morning. The intention was just to poke around and kill some time until my childless friends woke up. Almost as soon as we walked in, he discovered a basket of Turning Twenty kits, pulled this one out, and began running around the store being loud, which was a little panic-inducing. The women at the shop were cool about it, started playing with him and told me to take my time browsing. At one point Logan had wrapped all 35+lbs of himself around one of their legs and was laughing maniacally, and she was walking around with him like that, pausing to tell me everything in the store was 10% off. It was kind of surreal, being the opposite of most retail encounters where he runs around being loud and crazy, shopkeepers glare, and I rush through it all trying to get out asap. Their attitude was great: he's three, he's noisy, and he's way into the colors and textures of all the fabric, so no big deal, right? We ended up getting the kit and a fat quarter of the orange dotty print that Logan decided was his favorite. All of the prints are from Katie Jump Rope.
It's probably a good thing that all shopkeepers aren't like that; I'd be in danger of spending a lot more money!
